Since the day I met you that afternoon in 2006, you have been a constant feature in my life. You will been an incredible friend. Even being there for me when my dad died, helping with the funeral despite your illness. I was praying that you would get better. On Thursday, I promised to take you back to Yaya when you got better and by Saturday you were gone.

It’s crazy to me that we are not going to have our hours-long conversations. It’s crazy to me that I won’t tease you that I am older than you. So no more Adoley’s jollof or cake from my mummy around the holidays.
