My mentor! Can’t believe you are gone. Thanks for your many meals and talks. How you shared and loved your homeland, I look forward to touching the grounds in Ghana to keep the dream alive. I can hear your voice; when are you coming to visit me in Ghana. Rest my friend!

As Dr. Oquaye’s pastor for several years I found him to be an awesome man of God. I truly admired his character, his love of God and family, especially his wife Karen. I’m just as shocked and surprised as anyone in hearing about his untimely death. But heaven just improved immensely with the good drs arrival. Praying for the family.

Death o Death where is your sting
Where is your victory
But thanks be to God through Jesus Christ we have Victory.
Uncle Patrick as we affectionately called you ,was so loving kind respectful and above all a Believer in the Almighty God your Creator and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
A true Christian of Faith and Believer. We love you but God loves you best.
A big vacuum is left and no one can fill your place because you're different and meant so much to us.
Rest on Brother
Rest in.perfect peace till we meet again on the Resurrection Day when the Trumpet sound.

Patrick Oquaye

He called me “Daddy”, I called him “son”.....

My Uncle Patrick was just simply the most approachable and friendly gentleman you would like to know and to be around. Uncle P always had a smile on his face and was out to find someone to say a nice word to followed by either a cheeky laugh or a big smile.

He loved his family and made time to establish individual relationships with us all. I wish I wrote down all his “words of wisdom” and advise that always started with ..... “Daddy, you know what...” Priceless really especially now that Uncle P is no longer here with us. The memories are precious and we would hold on to them dearly.

I made sure I passed by his penthouse in Osu to see him when he visited Accra from the USA. This is before he moved to his cottage outside Accra. My wife and children spent sometime at the cottage with Auntie Karen and Uncle Pat and thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent together and looked forward to going back.

This loss is big. Terrible. The vacuum created by this loss is painful and difficult to bear. But we must soldier on and remember our Dear Uncle. His smile, his kind words of encouragement, comfort, kindness and most of all, love.

Simply love the people you have around you today for they are a gift to you for a season. They shall surely pass on. So show as much love as you can.

Our father is distraught with your passing. My Brothers same. The entire family is heartbroken. But we give thanks to God for your life and pray he comforts us all especially your wife Aunty Karen and your dear children.

Uncle P, We miss you. God be with you till we meet again.

Rest well Son!
Ya wor ojogban!
