Hymn 165
O GOD, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home;
Beneath the shadow of Thy Throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is thine Arm alone,
And our defence is sure.
Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art GOD,
To endless years the same.
A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.
Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its Sons away;
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.
O GOD, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.
Hymn 184
Rock of ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flow’d
Be of sin the double cure,
Cleanse me from its guilt and power,
Not the labours of my hands
Can fulfil Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears for ever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, SAVIOUR, or I die.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyelids close in death,
When I soar through tracts unknown,
See Thee on Thy Judgment Throne;
Rock of ages, cleft for me,
Let me hid myself in Thee.
Hymn 265
Thy way, not mine, O LORD,
However dark it be;
Lead me by thine own hand,
Choose out the path for me.
Smooth let it be or rough,
It will be still the best;
Winding or straight, it leads
Right onward to Thy rest.
I dare not choose my lot;
I would not if I might;
Choose Thou for me, my GOD,
So shall I walk aright.
The kingdom that I seek
Is thine, so let the way
That leads to it be thine,
Else I must surely stray.
Take Thou my cup, and it
With joy or sorrow fill,
As best to Thee may seem;
Choose Thou my good and ill.
Choose Thou for me my friends,
My sickness or my health;
Choose Thou my cares for me,
My wisdom, and my All.
Not mine, not mine, the choice
In things or great or small
Be Thou my Guide, my Strength,
My wisdom, and my All.

May the almighty grant you eternal rest
— 10 May, 2020
Dr, I thank God for your life and for letting our paths cross. You were benevolent and extended your benevolence to me. You bought books to support my education from abroad. You treated my father Papa Tenii (late), as your father. On several occassions you sent him drugs from abroad to enable him manage his asthma. Because the drugs you used to send him was so much for one patient, he also gave some to other people who suffered from asthma but could not afford to buy their own drugs. Even after the death of Papa Tenii in August 1999, you always visited his grave with flowers whenever you came to Kibi. You always visited to comfort his wife as well. We the children will forever have fond memories of you. May the good Lord grant you eternal rest, Amen.
