MEMORIES & CONDOLENCES

My Dearest Joe,
Since we met in the summer of 2014, you’ve been a true friend. We drifted and reconnected in 2017 and since then, you’ve been a companion and my confidant. I have so many stories and memories of you. Our inside jokes, the places we swore we would see and the future we so carelessly planned. I was spoiled rotten. People still can’t believe that we never fought. I didn’t have to call, ask or say much, you just knew when to be there. You would drive around to find me kenkey or pick me up because I wanted a mojito or order a diffuser because my allergies were killing me. You never asked or expected anything in return. You simply said I deserved it. So much so that a few hours before you passed, you made sure to say goodbye. You once said ‘A birthday doesn’t have to be spectacular, for me it’s just a day to be happy and spoil yourself small...’ Accordingly, you insisted that I celebrated each birthday, every little milestone, and you were my biggest cheerleader. I tried to do same for you and I hope that you felt as cherished as I did. I’ll miss our night-time trips to the beach to look at the stars and listen to the waves crash against the shore. I’ll miss hearing you laugh, our movie nights, road trips, spontaneous outings or simply napping in the car at the end of a stressful day. Each moment with you, I will cherish and carry with me. I’m grateful for a lifetime’s worth of memories. Most people are not so blessed. Thanks for making me understand what it truly means to love someone in the way that the Bible requires, and for teaching me to live each day to the fullest. You were an amazing man and the sweetest gentleman. Your legacy will live on.
Rest in peace Joe, I miss you dearly.
Chels.

My dear cousin Junior. I picked you up on the day you were born and you stole a piece of my heart forever. I can’t believe I have to pay this tribute to you. This wasn’t supposed to happen! You were meant to be the big brother my girls would turn to when they grew up. My heart broke the day I heard the news. No words can describe how sad I feel knowing I won’t have more time with you in this life. I’m sorry our plans to visit each other didn’t happen. I love you SO much and pray that God keeps you safe until we meet again.

Junior, when we first met, one thing was very clear, your warmth, your laughtet and your kindness. Such a gentleman. Our conversation which brought about our love for music. I still have your playlist and will never stop playing it till we meet again. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain. The love you left in our lives and our hearts no one can steal. Rest in perfect peace my gentleman.

Hey Cousin junior, I still remember when you were born here in Birmingham, England. Seeing you grow up into the man that you are was an absolute pleasure. I have nothing but fond memories of you. I remember you being always happy, smiling, polite, positive and a real gentleman with a huge heart. You really didn’t have a negative thing about you and that’s very rare. Since hearing of your passing it feels so unreal and I am still struggling to believe it. You were like the younger brother I never had and I was expecting to make so much more memories with you. I hope you realise how much you were loved us. Rest easy ‘lil bro’ till we meet again. My love and respect from your Cousin Jerome.
