Grandma

Rest in peace Ben. As i watched your funeral service so many thoughts run through my mind. For now i just want to say thanks for everything. You've been part of my professional support group for various periods since 2020. As a young WASH professional working as an Advisor at Plan, you were one of those who supported our programme and ensured it was well grounded particularly on the software side, the others being Theo and Vincent. Years later, as WASH Specialist at UNICEF, we worked together on the first UNICEF-CONIWAS PCA. You subsequently came in to support the programme at a very turbulent period in implementation. You and Nash were the two people in the sector who continuously showed concern for my welfare and often asked me to slow down. My passion was obviously getting the better part of me. I am heeding your advice now, Ben. Over the past year, as a consultant working with Global Affairs Canada, we had the privilege of calling on you to support our programmes as part of Canada's contribution to the sector. Our last face to face meeting was at the RBF meeting with Chief Directors in August last year. You and Patrick combined your skills to make an otherwise challenging task seem easy. Ben, the technical evaluation report has not yet been signed oh; what do i do?
I pray for your mom, I recall the many times you told me you were now returning to Accra after a visit to her over the weekend. I had the opportunity of seeing another side of you when we were in Bolga for the Natural Leader's workshop. With my room situated right by the stairs, i heard you descending the stairs early each day for your morning walks and singing along as you did so. Thanks for your contribution towards our Church building. May that be credited to your account. Ben,you have gone the way of all men. You have only taken the lead albeit at a time when we thought we needed you more on this side. God knows best. May those of us left behind live our lives so we will be ready to meet our maker when he calls. "Da yie" Ben

Ben, I am still in a trance, your sudden demise appears a mystery to me. To the bereaved family, I say God will take care of you. This world is not our home.
My condolences all family members, mates and friends. Until we meet again, Ben,

RIP.
