Alex was our Chief Economist at UNDP 2009-2010. Beyond professional, he was very kind hearted during his leadership. He set a good example for other African leaders to emulate.
May he rest in perfect peace.

Onuabarima Alex
Yes, we are sad and shocked but we know that you are HOME. Well done for your faithfulness in holding on to the TRUTH of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as you lived and worked in different parts of the world.
We will cherish the loving memories we had together as families over four decades in Legon, Kampala, etc. The fellowship, visits; the Big Laughs; sharing our challenges and sweet Ebenezers; the pieces of encouragement we gave one another. It never crossed our minds that our time together on 2 December 2018 during our wedding anniversary lunch will be our last. We remember the joy and fellowship we all had on that day of good memories. It was indeed lovely to see you and Kate again with the usual Big Laughs.
For Kate, The BOYS and the rest of the big family, this is a great pain. The tears will forever flow but the Lord Himself will comfort you. Onuabarima Alex from the Akuapem Mountains, Nantewye; you have finished your race. Good and faithful disciple, your crown is waiting for you.

Our deepest condolences and sympathy to sister Kate and the members of Alex's family. The news of our dear brother's passing from this life to be with the Lord has saddened our congregation here in the Hague, Netherlands. Brother Alex served our congregation faithfully as an elder. He was held in high esteem and deeply loved.
Our prayers are with sister Kate and the family.

Alex Aboagye:
Ɔwɔ nkae.
Growing up in Mampong Akuapem where he started school at the Presbyterian Primary School, and despite losing his mother at the tender age of 7 or 8 with his father remarrying and having his employment demands moving him to different towns where he served as UAC Manager, I was some years ago most impressed with his vivid recollection of some of his classmates and his strong desire to reconnect. He thus was most grateful when I assisted him to link up with as many as it was possible to reach to join in a Sunday service at the Presby Church at Mampong one day and have lunch together after church at the Opesaw Hall. His donation of two desktops to the MAKAD Library provided opportunity to some young persons who otherwise would not have access to a computer to have practical experience.
If I am not starting paying my tribute making reference to his love for the Lord as evidenced by his involement and participation in church and para-church organizations, or his academic prowess in his field of economics, it's because I consider these public knowledge of which more than appropriate reference is being made in other tributes.
My personal visits to him when he was at post in Mozambique and Uganda when my work schedules took me to those countries provided close contact and learning opportunities from him, especially in the area of personal health care and insights into Bible Study, not to mention the Netherlands where in the company of his dear wife Kate, it was really home away from home.
His love for his wife Kate and children, and siblings and other family members from both all sides, not to mention Christian brothers and sisters was very exemplary and worthy of emulation.
His mates from Presec will miss him; so also those at Apam Secondary School where he went for his sixth form, as recollected by Mr Seth Newman.
Alex, your sudden parting attests to our Lord's word that here we have no continuing city. We look forward to the heavenly dwellings. Nantew yiye. Yebehyiam bio, Onyame nti.
