It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we learned of the passing of our dear Uncle Alex.
We will always remember how Kate and him refused to leave my daughter Letitia behind when the UN were to evacuate them to Nairobi and managed to take her with their boys while I was on mission in Abuja.
We have fond memories of the time spent in your house on Debre Zeit Road after my arrival from the UK to join the then OAU as a newly recruited translator.
Throughout the time we spent together in Addis Ababa, we were part of your big family, before your career took you to new horizons.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kate and the boys during this trying period.
May the Lord give them the fortitude to bear this great loss.
You will forever live in our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear Uncle Alex.

Wofa, you were a shining light and example to us all. Your support for all of us; your nieces and nephews, your children, their wives and your grandchildren was much appreciated. Your laughter and smile are unforgettable.
To my lovely Aunty and cousins, we grieve with you and offer our love and support.
Rest well Uncle Alex, love you.

Dear Auntie Kate,
Please accept our sincere sympathies on the passing of uncle Alex. I pray that God will comfort you and family. May he bring you peace during this sad time. I remember uncle Alex, fondly, for his wisdom, faith and for his esteemed service as an elder at Trinity Church, in the Netherlands. Sleep well uncle Alex, sleep well.
Much love,
Cynthia & Thierry Mouanda
